The C8 Corvette Stingray recently set a new quarter-mile world record with an impressive time of 8.64 seconds.

The race to achieve an 8-second quarter-mile time for the C8 Corvette began in October 2020, with competitors like Extreme Turbo Systems, Emelia Hartford, FuelTech USA, and Late Model Racecraft pushing the limits.

Extreme Turbo Systems initially broke the 9-second mark, but Emelia Hartford's C8, nicknamed Phoenix, eventually claimed the title of the World's Fastest C8 Corvette with a time of 9.39 seconds. 

In August 2021, a customer of Extreme Turbo Systems reclaimed the record with a surprise time of 9.05 seconds at 159 mph. 

FuelTech USA, led by Anderson Dick, entered the competition and achieved a power record of 1350 whp in September 2021, later setting the fastest C8 Corvette time at 9.01 seconds and 153 mph. 

FuelTech USA became the first to break the 8-second barrier, clocking in at 8.973 seconds at 160 mph. 

Late Model Racecraft took the title in August 2022 with a time of 8.83 seconds at 160 mph. 

Extreme Turbo Systems recently reclaimed the world record with an astonishing quarter-mile time of 8.64 seconds at a speed of 170 mph.
